Independent contractors are self-employed individuals who perform many of the same functions as a regular employee. However, they typically work on an assignment basis and are not tied to one employer. Independent contractors can be found in a variety of work environments.
Do independent contractors get pay stubs?
Normally you don’t get pay stubs if you are an independent contractor. The company also does not take out social security or insurance or 401(k) deductions or anything that might show up on a pay stub because as an independent contractor you are technically not their employee. You are your own employee.
